Leadership Tennessee’s spring 2023 cohort will consist of 29 rising professionals who represent the diversity of the regions and industries of the state. The roaster includes six members from Hamilton County:

• Julia Whitacre, vice president, operations, Black Creek Chattanooga
The class will meet four times, conducting sessions in Pickwick Landing, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville. Over the course of the program, participants will grow their professional skills and build a network of rising leaders spanning the state while learning about significant issues facing the state.

Hurst earns wealth management honor
The American Bankers Association has named Zach Hurst, vice president and managing director of the Chattanooga office for The Trust Company of Tennessee, to its 2023 class of Under 40 in Wealth Management.
Hurst joined the firm in 2017. He previously served as a financial adviser at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and in multiple collegiate-level athletics administration positions.
Hurst earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina University and Master of Education from the University of Georgia. He holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation and is a certified financial planner.
His volunteer activities and board memberships include the Chattanooga Regional Homeless Coalition board of directors, The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Planned Giving Advisory Council, the Mountain City Club board of governors and Forest Hills Cemetery board of directors.
Hurst resides in Signal Mountain with his wife and children.
