The American College of Trial Lawyers recently inducted Rosemarie Hill, the head of Chambliss’ labor and employment group, into its fellowship.
The ACTL, established in 1950, is dedicated to maintaining and improving the standards of trial practice, the administration of justice and the ethics of the profession. Membership in the College is by invitation only and extended only to those whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Lawyers must have a minimum of 15 years of trial experience before they can be considered for fellowship.
More than 5,700 lawyers throughout the United States and Canada are fellows. However, no more than 1 percent of lawyers licensed to practice in any state may be elected as fellows. Hill is the third Chambliss attorney to receive this honor. Max Bahner, senior counsel, and Hugh Moore, counsel, are also members.
“Acceptance into the ACTL is a tribute to a lawyer’s exceptional trial and legal abilities, and also their day-to-day work ethic,” said Bahner. “Membership is a remarkable venue for collaboration with other top lawyers from across the United States.”
The dedication and perseverance recognized by the ACTL were instilled in Hill at an early age. Born in Erlangen, Germany, Hill had a challenging childhood. However, those experiences fueled her work ethic. She graduated from George Mason University in 1981 and from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1984.
At Chambliss, Hill counsels clients and represents employers in all area of employment law, ranging from discrimination and retaliation lawsuits or agency claims to questions regarding hiring, firing, retention, wages and leave.
