One might think countless visitors have embarked on cinematic voyages at the Tennessee Aquarium since its IMAX 3D Theater opened its doors May 1, 1996. But the aquarium was actually counting.
Amanda Brock this month became the 9 millionth guest to visit the theater when she and her daughter, Lenie Kate, arrived at the theater from Dalton to see “Sea Lions: Life by a Whisker 3D.”
To celebrate their milestone contribution, the aquarium surprised Brock with a celebratory gift package containing certificates for a two-night stay at the Chattanoogan Hotel, a four-pack of passes to the aquarium and theater and items from Chattanooga Tourism Company, including a VIP pass to more than one dozen Chattanooga-area attractions.
Brock said it was their first time at the IMAX.
