The Chattanooga chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors has named Jan Lambert its 2022 Realtor of the Year.
Lambert, 61, is a residential agent with RE/MAX Properties on Encompass Drive and a 15-year veteran of the real estate industry.
She served on the committee that recruited nominees for the WCR’s 2023 governing board.
Lambert says being named the organization’s Realtor of the Year is an honor and she enjoys contributing however she can.
“I love to volunteer,” she says. “And I don’t need anything in return.”
In addition to serving the WCR, Lambert is a member of the Georgia Realtors Forms Committee and Tennessee Realtors’ Grievance and Professional Standards committees.
She began her real estate career in 2007 with Weichert Realtors, which named her its Rookie of the Year during the downturn, and has since guided buyers and sellers through several hundred real estate transactions, including helping renters find homes or apartments to lease.
“I love to see smiles at the closing table,” Lambert says. “Then it’s time to prospect again.”
Lambert became a real estate agent after selling two properties on her own – a process known as For Sale by Owner. As a Realtor, she recommends using an agent instead to avoid pitfalls.
“Knowing what I know now compared to what I knew then, I wouldn’t recommend it,” she says. “A homeowner doesn’t even know who’s supposed to pay for what.”
Before launching a real estate business, Lambert worked in the carpet industry for 25 years.
Additional past honors include being named to Coldwell Banker’s Diamond, Sterling and International societies – all prestigious sales awards. While at Coldwell Banker Pryor Realty, Lambert also received the President’s Circle and Circle of Excellence awards and was regularly identified as a multimillion-dollar producer.
As much as Lambert appreciates the recognition, she says honesty and integrity come first.
“I believe in providing the highest level of professionalism by knowing the market and communicating that knowledge to my clients,” she says. “I then enhance my knowledge with continued professional education.”
Lambert says her specialties include serving first-time homebuyers and assisting buyers and sellers in new construction and land transactions. She operates in Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia.
During her leisure time, Lambert enjoys traveling and sailing. She’s visited 44 U.S. states and has hiked in places as diverse as the Teton Range and the glaciers of Alaska.
