Mayor, local kids decorate “Share the Warmth” tree at Creative Discovery Museum

Normally when kids make a mad rush for a Christmas tree, it’s to grab their presents.  But on November 18, local children hurried to be the first to place donated items of warmth, including mittens, gloves, scarves, hats and blankets, on a holiday tree at the Creative Discovery Museum.

The “Share the Warmth” tree is part of the Creative Discovery Museum’s “Helping Hands” exhibit, which introduces children to the idea that they can help other people.  Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield was on hand to hang items on the 9-foot tree’s higher branches.  The tree will grow throughout the holiday season as people drop off additional items at the museum.  The donations will help to keep needy people warm this winter.
