Schools honors partners in education

Hamilton County Schools (HCS) hosted its biennial Partners in Education Awards Breakfast at the Read House Nov. 15. The event brought together a wide range of nonprofits, businesses, volunteer organizations, government entities and individuals who “contribute their time, talent and resources to impact educational outcomes for Hamilton County students,” says Dr. Justin Robertson, Superintendent of Hamilton County Schools.

“Our community partners represent the best of Hamilton County’s spirit coming together to empower students, support educators and open doors to opportunities. Their commitment to our schools strengthens not only our classrooms but our entire community.”

HCS presented the following awards:

Early Learning: Creative Discovery Museum

Educator Champion: ArtsBuild

Equity in Education: Troy Rogers - 423 Chain Breakers

Faith-Based: St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church

Family Resource: Read and Ride Program - CARTA and Chattanooga Public Library

Future Ready: Trust for Public Land

Out-of-School Time: The Centenary

Partner of the Year: Darren Hodges - Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED

“This event shows just how powerful partnerships can be,” says Kate Skonberg, HCS director of family and community engagement. “Each contribution moves us toward a thriving future for every student.”
