Dale Buchanan and Associates this month expanded its Social Security disability law practice with the hiring of three new associates.
Whitney McElroy attended the University Honors Program of the University of Alabama, where she received a Presidential Scholarship and was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She graduated with a B.A. degree, magna cum laude, in psychology in 2008. McElroy then attended the University of Alabama School of Law, where she received a full tuition academic scholarship her freshman year and later received the “Best Paper” award in Advanced Problems in Commercial Law - Bankruptcy. She graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 2011. McElroy’s experience includes research and writing, conducting client communications and interviews, managing a caseload, and aiding in the preparation and implementation of litigation. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association (TBA).
Doug Curtis graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2001. A native Chattanoogan, he is a graduate of The McCallie School and attended Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., earning a B.A. in history. Curtis was an assistant public defender in the 12th Tennessee Judicial District and served as an attorney advisor and special magistrate with the Social Security Administration Office of Disability Adjudication and Review. He is a member of the TBA.
Laura Mobley also grew up in Chattanooga, where she attended and graduated from Girls Preparatory School. She is a University of Tennessee Knoxville alum with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and English Literature. Mobley holds a Paralegal Certification certificate from the University of Tennessee and worked in the legal field for nearly a decade as an insurance defense paralegal and as a subrogation claims adjuster before graduating from Lincoln Memorial University’s Duncan School of Law with a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in 2013. She is a member of the TBA.
