Steve Angle, who has served as chancellor of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for the past 11 years, will transition from his leadership role to join the faculty beginning Jan. 1. Angle is the second-longest tenured chancellor since the university joined the University of Tennessee System in 1969.
“Steve has led UTC through a remarkable period of growth and transformation,” UT System President Randy Boyd says. “Under his leadership, UTC has reached new levels of excellence and community impact, from record-breaking enrollment to cutting-edge research and significant campus development. His dedication to the students, faculty and Chattanooga community has set a lasting foundation for continued success.”
“Serving as chancellor of UTC has been an incredible honor,” Angle says. “We’ve accomplished a lot and set the stage for a prosperous future. I’m not ready to retire, but I am ready to step away from the chancellor’s role. The most enjoyable part of my job has been working with students, seeing their success and helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations. I look forward to continuing to be a vital part of our Mocs community.”
President Boyd will announce an interim chancellor for UTC in the coming weeks. A national search for Angle’s successor set to begin in January.

Bellamy named Siskin West administrator
Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation has tapped Ariel Bellamy to serve as the administrator of Siskin Subacute West.
Bellamy has served as Siskin’s director of health and information services and privacy officer - a position that familiarized her with HIPPA privacy policies - since 2021.
As administrator, Bellamy will oversee the management and operation of the facility, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while supporting the provision of quality patient care.
“I’m honored to join a team that’s committed to delivering exceptional patient care. Together, we’ll continue to enhance the lives of those we serve,” says Bellamy.
Acting as assistant administrator since July 2024, Bellamy has proven her aptitude for leadership and dedication to the organization, says Aaron Spinks, COO of Siskin Hospital and former administrator of Siskin Subacute West.
“We have no doubt that Ariel will continue to thrive in this new role and inspire those around her to achieve even greater success.”
Siskin Subacute West is a program designed to provide patients with an interdisciplinary therapy program that’s less intensive than traditional comprehensive inpatient treatment. It is consistently recognized regionally and nationally as one of the best skilled nursing facilities.
