Glen Falls Trail closed
Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park is advising that the Glen Falls Trail, located on Lookout Mountain, is closed and will remain closed until further notice. The trail is adjacent to the recent mud slide that closed Ochs Highway on Oct. 14. Visitors are asked not to park in the pull off on Ochs Highway at the trail head until the mudslide hazard area can be repaired.
Photographic Society winter reception

The Photographic Society of Chattanooga will hold a reception at the Gallery at Blackwell on Nov. 14 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. to present the winter season show. The winter season theme is “Member’s Choice.” Refreshments will be provided, and the public is welcome. The Gallery is located at Blackwell Automotive at 71 Eastgate Loop in Chattanooga. CHA175 birthday bicycle ride

The City of Chattanooga’s Transportation Dept. will host a guided bicycle tour through city neighborhoods and parks on Sat., Nov. 15, from 1-3 p.m. Starting at Outdoor Chattanooga, located 200 River St. in Coolidge Park, the 12-mile route will travel through the heart of the city, highlighting neighborhoods and parks. Recommended for adults and older children when accompanied by an adult. BYO-bike, borrow one, or rent an electric bike.
Chattanooga’s birthday bash

The grand finale of the City of Chattanooga’s 175th birthday week will be a celebration in Coolidge Park on Sat., Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is invited to come and listen to live folk, jazz and rock music, play on inflatable games, “touch a truck,” and cut the giant Moon Pie birthday cake.
5K Run to Remember

The Alzheimer’s Association will host the 5K Run to Remember on Sat., Nov. 15, at the Tennessee Riverpark. Funds raised help the organization’s efforts to support those who have Alzheimer’s and the people who care for them. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The run begins at 9.
Archaeology lecture
Monday, Nov. 17
Jon Seligman, head of excavation for the Israel Antiquities Authority, will present “Villages and Monasteries in Jerusalem’s Hinterland During the Byzantine Period” on Monday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. in Lynn Wood Hall Chapel on the campus of Southern Adventist University.
