Attorney Drew Ellis has joined Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel. A former mechanical engineer and designer, he will support the firm’s intellectual property section.
Through his past work in various patent-heavy industries, Ellis developed “a deep understanding of the innovation cycle, the creation and development of patentable ideas and the process of bringing those ideas to fruition,” Chambliss says in a news release.
Ellis uses his design background in working with entrepreneurs to protect their intellectual property.
His work includes obtaining and enforcing patents for simple to complex inventions in a number of technology sectors, working with clients to develop and build trademark protection for their brands and advising on various other intellectual concerns.
Ellis is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law. He also earned a degree in mechanical engineering at UT Knoxville.
Ellis is licensed to practice in Tennessee and is a member of the Tennessee and Knoxville bar associations.
