Officials of The Raines Group, one of Chattanooga’s longest standing commercial real estate companies, are celebrating 40 years of bringing real estate management, leasing and sales services to the greater Chattanooga area.
President William Raines Jr., founded the company in 1984.
Throughout its history, The Raines Group has focused primarily on offering advising, consulting and sales services to the commercial real estate market; however, the company will soon be broadening its services to include the residential segment.
“The Raines Group has been blessed with many great clients and an outstanding staff of real estate professionals over the past 40 years,” says Raines. “We’re in a competitive business, and we know our potential clients could choose to do business elsewhere. But our attitude is to work harder and smarter, and to go the extra mile for each customer.

Raines says his company’s positive mindset is based on the belief that every property and client represent a “diamond in the rough.” The company’s role is to polish and enhance the diamond, thus maximizing its value, and either sell it or manage it for their client, he adds.
The Raines Group has more than 200 years of combined real estate experience. Raines says its staff members pride themselves on offering varied services customized to the individual client’s needs, as well as the expertise that comes with specialized training, including the CSM (Certified Shopping Center Manager), CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and RPA (Real Property Administrator) designations.
