The Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce named Landrace Bioscience the 2020 Spirit of Innovation Award recipient at its recent virtual Spirit of Innovation Awards. Landrace Bioscience is a consultative manufacturer of hemp extracts.
The Chattanooga Chamber also recognized 2020 Spirit of Innovation finalists Text Request and Trekka.
Arlan Hamilton keynoted Spirit of Innovation this year. Hamilton is the founder and managing partner of Backstage Capital, a venture capital fund she built from the ground up while homeless.
The Spirit of Innovation Awards honor businesses that originated in the region and have potential to impact many people and inspire change, the Chattanooga Chamber says in a news release.
A volunteer-led committee made up of community business and tech leaders is responsible for selecting finalists based on their applications, as well as choosing the Spirit of Innovation Award recipient after site visits to each location.
