ArtsBuild is accepting nominations for the 2017 Ruth Holmberg Arts Leadership Award. This annual award recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to the arts in Chattanooga and who is actively engaged in the cultural life of our community. The award honors an individual who, through his or her exemplary efforts, has significantly contributed to building a stronger community through the arts.

The inaugural Arts Leadership Award ceremony and reception took place in 2014. The first award recognized Ruth Holmberg for her extraordinary support of the arts and cultural community in Chattanooga over the past 70 years. Mai Bell Hurley and Fletcher Bright were chosen as the 2015 and 2016 award recipients.

“It is our hope that this annual award continues to honor an individual who embodies the same spirit and passion for the arts as Ruth,” said Dan Bowers, president of ArtsBuild. “The recipient of the Ruth Holmberg Arts Leadership Award is someone who has selflessly given his or her time, energy, and resources to bettering our community through the arts.”

To obtain the nomination criteria and submission form, visit www.artsbuild.com, email julie@artsbuild.com, or call (423) 756-2787. The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. The 2017 Ruth Holmberg Arts Leadership Award ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, March 7 at the Hunter Museum of American Art.
