Isaiah 117 House at Chambliss Center for Children is now welcoming children in Hamilton County who are entering state care due to abuse, abandonment or neglect.
A partnership between two Tennessee-based nonprofits, the Isaiah 117 House at Chambliss Center for Children will serve as a safe haven for children awaiting foster placement, says Chambliss Center President and CEO Katie Harbison.
“We’ve been caring for this community’s at-risk children for over 150 years. This new program completes a full continuum of care for children who are experiencing trauma and having serious difficulties. We could not be happier to partner with Isaiah 117 House.”
Words of thanks extended during a ribbon cutting ceremony Oct. 16 included recognition of Ethan Collier, owner of Collier Construction, who rallied his vendors to construct the Isaiah 117 House at Chambliss Center for Children.
Department of Childrens Services Team Coordinator Nikki Harris thanked Chambliss Center for Children and Isaiah 117 House for “joining their village” to fight for the safety and well-being of the children in Hamilton County.
“I now know what a meal, fresh clothes, and a hug can do for a child in need,” said Isaiah 117 House Founder Ronda Paulson during the ceremony. “I know what these things can do for a child who has experienced trauma, and I pray God allows us to continue to do this work for many years to come.”
