The Titans are hoping the fourth time will be the charm, and the “win” column will see its first usage of the 2026 season. That said, Charm City residents the Baltimore Ravens are coming off a last-second win in Brazil last week, and look to dash the Titans’ hopes for a road win. Here are the Titans’ keys to notching that first W.
First down
Slow Derrick Henry. Henry won’t be looking to be nostalgic Sunday when his old club comes to Baltimore. He’s probably more ready to hang a 200-yard rushing day on the Titans. As Henry continues to build his Hall of Fame resume, he is probably licking his chops to play against a Titans team that continues to flounder at the bottom of the NFL.
Second down
Don’t wait too late. The Titans offense didn’t get going at all against the Jets in Week One. And in closer losses to the Eagles and Giants, they waited far too late to get something going. The first half of games for the Titans has been embarrassingly bad on offense, and it is taxing the defense, which is trying to keep the team afloat in games. A nice touchdown drive early in the game might make a big difference for a team that needs a spark.
Third down
Stay on the field. In something related to the offense’s struggles in scoring points (especially in the first half), the Titans have to do something about the alarming time of possession stat. The Giants held the ball for 34:26 on Sunday, and that is the shortest amount of time any of their three opponents have had the football. The Titans simply have to put together some drives and not go three-and-out so frequently.
Fourth down
Contain Lamar Jackson. As if worrying about their former teammate King Henry isn’t enough, the Ravens also have one of the top playmakers in the league at quarterback in Lamar Jackson. Jackson’s dual-threat ability will certainly tax the Titans defense and test an already suspect secondary.
