Strategy, Operations and Tactics (Tea Hoffmann and Kurt Winsted)
Running Your Firm the Army Way
Law school prepared us to think like lawyers, but most of us did not learn how to operate a law firm or individual practices profitably. This session is designed to help lawyers “think” like battle-tested Generals prepping for conflict. In this session, lawyers will learn:
- How to approach their individual practice in a more strategic and focused way
- Which traditional business practices should be scrutinized in order to increase efficiency, profitability and overall effectiveness
- Everyday tactics that can create more clout and loyalty with your clients and peers
9:30 – 10:30
The Art of War (Tea Hoffmann) - The 90 Day Strategy
Few would willingly go to war without a battle plan. Yet, many firms and individual lawyers still operate without a good strategic plan. But, most lawyers who have developed plans in the past have found little success with implementation. This program focuses on how to develop a “90 Day Strategy” intended to get firms and lawyers focused on what is most impactful and can be done in the next 90 days. Once lawyers see how the process works, this strategy can be duplicated at the firm or individual level. This session will include the following and much more:
- The benefits of having a plan
- Critical elements in “90 Day” strategic planning process
- Overcoming obstacles of the planning process
- How strategy can be implemented at every level of the firm
- Tips to duplicate the “90 Day” strategic plan
10:45 – 12:00
