At Lovell Field, approximately 22 commercial flights and an estimated 100 private flights using the airport were grounded for the 12-hour period from Saturday noon until midnight during the nationwide “Shy Shield” air alert exercise.

An industrial committee made up of 100 members from the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce left for Chicago Sunday morning on a four-day industry hunt in the Chicago and Milwaukee area.

U.S. District Judge Leslie R. Darr for the first time in his career as a federal judge recently began serving on the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati. He was designated by Chief Judge Shackleford Miller, Jr., to sit for Judge Thomas F. McAllister on trial panels in six cases this week.
