Newsmakers: Cindy Brown, Misty Reese join Pinnacle




Cindy Brown and Misty Reese have joined Pinnacle Financial Partners as financial specialists for the firm’s Broad Street office.

Before coming to the firm, Brown spent 13 years with SunTrust Bank, where roles included serving as a licensed personal banker, teller coordinator and client services specialist.

Reese most recently comes from Atlantic Capital, where she was an assistant branch manager. Previous roles were with Regions Bank and First Tennessee Bank, where she was a financial services representative, and AmSouth Bank, where she was an assistant branch manager.

CHI promotes Sutton to CFO

Michael Sutton has been selected as market chief financial officer of CHI Memorial. Sutton’s appointment as market CFO follows Troy Hammett’s transition to focus on his role as CFO for the southeast division of Catholic Health Initiatives. Sutton will report to Janelle Reilly, CEO, CHI Memorial.

Sutton has more than 22 years of healthcare leadership experience. Before joining CHI Memorial in 2001 as manager of cost and reimbursement, he served as a senior auditor for BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. For the past five years, Sutton has served as the vice president of finance at CHI Memorial.

Sutton holds a master’s in business administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Zink named First Tennessee Chair of Excellence

Dan Zink, director of the Hospitality & Tourism Management program at Chattanooga State, was named the 2018-2019 First Tennessee Chair of Excellence for the second year in a row.

“Dan employs an innovative teaching style with his students. In addition to teaching five classes per semester, he leads in community service and serves on a number of advisory boards including the Greater Chattanooga Hospitality Association and the Hospitality & Tourism management program at Howard School,” says Bobby Lusk, senior vice president of First Tennessee.

The First Tennessee Endowed Chair of Excellence in Business was established through the Chattanooga State Foundation for the purpose of recognizing a distinguished faculty member within the Business Division.
