News briefs: Nonprofit Enterprise Center relocating from Edney to Lupton

The Enterprise Center, Chattanooga’s nonprofit economic development partner, will move from the Edney Building to the historic Lupton Building at 1010 Georgia Avenue in November 2025.

Acting President and CEO Sammy Lowdermilk said the new space will continue to offer public meeting and event facilities similar to Floor Five, which has hosted about 100 gatherings each month. The Lupton Building, part of the Stone Fort Land Company Historic District, is being renovated to provide collaborative space for local businesses, nonprofits and civic groups.

Board Chair Dan Ryan said the move will help the organization continue its legacy of connecting residents to technology, training and resources “from within the heart of our city.” Public use of the current Floor Five space has ended, with the new facilities expected to open in 2026.

SORBA survey to shape future of area hiking, biking, climbing spots

SORBA Chattanooga, in partnership with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, has launched a trail user survey to better understand how local trails are used, their community value and their economic impact. The survey is open to hikers, bikers, climbers, runners, walkers and non-trail users. Feedback will guide long-term planning, improve user experiences and strengthen funding advocacy for future trail development across the Chattanooga region.

Responses will also inform a mountain biking economic impact report, set for release in Fall 2026, measuring how trails contribute to the outdoor economy, tourism and quality of life. The initiative supports maintenance and accessibility for Chattanooga’s 170 miles of multi-use trails and will aid funding proposals and partnerships.
