Three games remain for the Predators before their combination All-Star break and bye week will see them not play another game until Feb. 10.
First Period – At Edmonton Jan. 27
That ominous organ music you are hearing may foretell the lack of luck the Predators have had against the Edmonton Oilers in recent history. Before the Predators went into Edmonton Nov. 4 and delivered the home standing Oilers a 5-2 defeat, Edmonton was 9-0-1 in the previous 10 matchups between the teams.
The Oilers have been white-hot lately, soaring in the standings in the process. Center Leon Draisaitl has used the Predators as his personal punching bag, posting 24 goals and 15 assists in 25 career games played against Nashville.
Filip Forsberg is a point-per-game player against Edmonton in his career, scoring 12 goals and adding 12 assists in 24 games played.
Second Period – At Ottawa Jan. 29
The Predators make their only visit to Canada’s capital this season to face a struggling Senators team, sitting uncomfortably in the basement of the Atlantic Division. The Senators recently made a coaching change, bringing back Jacques Martin to try and right the ship.
The Senators are captained by Brady Tkachuk, who is usually in the middle of any exchanges of pushes and shoves at or after whistles occur.
Third Period – vs. Los Angeles Jan. 31
The Predators return home for one game to close out January and their pre-All-Star break schedule hosting the Los Angeles Kings. If the Predators can remain in playoff contention, the Kings are likely to be one of the teams fighting for one of the two wild card spots with them.
Former Predator Kevin Fiala is one of many Kings forwards who lead their balanced offensive attack.
