The Home Builders Association of Greater Chattanooga (HBAGC) held its annual Membership & Installation Dinner on Jan. 20 at The Westin. More than 220 people attended the event, during which HBAGC recognized member volunteer achievements and installed its 2018 officers directors.
Officers for 2018 include: President Jay Bell, Bell Home Builders; Vice President Gabe Thomas, Collier Construction; Treasurer Jordan Cornelison, P&C Construction; Karl Sodergren, Sodergren Land Company and First Commerce; Immediate Past President Mike Croxall, Croxall Construction; and Association Council President Clay Cochran, Jody Millard Pest Control.
Before passing the baton to Bell, Croxall offered a look back at 2017, during which the local building industry enjoyed a strong economy and delivered 1,000 housing starts, which in turn produced $192 million in local income, $26 million in taxes and 4,700 jobs.
Major award winners include Jay Bell of Bell Home Builders, the 2017 HBAGC Builder of the Year, and Barry Payne of Barry Payne Construction, the 2017 Developer of the Year.
