Jacob Farmer and Emma Marion have joined Baker Donelson’s Chattanooga office.
Farmer concentrates his practice on state and local taxation, federal taxation, bankruptcy, real estate and HUD-insured financing transactions.
He decided to go to law school while he was a business student at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Farmer graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville College of Law in 2019. A native of Franklin, his interests include the Tennessee Titans and spending time outdoors. Farmer is a member of the Chattanooga and Tennessee Bar Associations.
As a litigation associate, Emma Marion assists clients in general business-related litigation matters. She is a graduate of UTK and American University Washington College of Law.
In law school, Marion served as a research assistant for two organizations that provide pro bono international legal services for entities involved in peace negotiations, post-conflict constitution drafting and transitional justice. She researched and drafted memoranda for these organizations on issues relating to accountability for torture, enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings, as well as on the law of occupation and the right to self-determination.
With these projects, Marion provided support to the United Nations in Geneva and studied human rights law in The Hague. She is passionate about pro bono projects and is looking forward to participating in pro bono projects and other volunteer work in Chattanooga.
In her spare time, Marion like to cook and enjoy long meals at home or around Chattanooga with her family. She also loves to travel and tries to visit family in France once a year.
