Chattanooga Presents this week announced that the downtown outdoor ice skating rink, Ice on the Landing, will now stay open through Sunday, Feb. 1. This represents an additional three weeks beyond its original closing date of Jan. 4.

“We’ve just seen an overwhelmingly positive response from the general public for the rink that we’ve extended our contract with the ice rink company to have it stay in place through the end of January,” said Carla Pritchard, owner of Chattanooga Presents. The schedule, which changes slightly according to whether school is in session or not, is available on the web at www.iceonthelanding.com.

On New Year’s Eve, Ice on the Landing will be offering reserved tickets from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. for a special “late skate.” For a $20 adult ticket or a $15 children’s ticket, skaters will receive 2015 lighted eye glasses, free souvenir photos from a photo booth, and a sparkling cider toast and cupcake at midnight. Only 125 tickets will be sold for this timeframe. Tickets are currently available on site at Ice on the Landing.

Ice on the Landing, presented by Volkswagen Chattanooga, operates under the local management of Chattanooga Presents and is made possible through sponsorships from Volkswagen Chattanooga, EPB Fiber Optics, Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union, Mark Hite with Keller Williams Realty, the Riverfront Business & Residents Partnership, Children’s Hospital at Erlanger, and Coyote Logistics.

Ice on the Landing is also available for birthday parties and private rental, as the schedule permits.
