State Sen. Bo Watson (R-Hixson) has been reappointed chairman of the Senate Finance, Ways and Means Committee. The committee is responsible for legislation pertaining to the budget, taxes, and issuance of bonds.
Watson was also reappointed as a member of the Senate’s Health and General Welfare Committee and the Commerce and Labor Committee.
The Health and Welfare Committee considers legislation that governs healthcare facilities, licensed health professionals, TennCare and all aspects of public welfare.
The Commerce and Labor Committee considers legislation dealing with economic development, business, insurance, and business regulations, as well as employment matters.
In addition, Watson will chair the Senate Rules Committee which is responsible for making modifications to the rules which govern the Senate’s proceedings.
