The Chattanooga Bar Association and the CBA’s Young Lawyers Division will host this year’s local high school mock trial competition in February and March.
To pull off a successful competition, mock trail coordinator Judge Alex McVeagh is recruiting attorneys to score the rounds and serve as judges.
As of Jan. 11, the competition is scheduled to take place in-person at the Hamilton County-Chattanooga Courts Building, 600 Market St. Dates and times include:
Round 1: Tuesday, Feb. 22, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Round 2: Wednesday, Feb. 23, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Round 3: Thursday, March 10, 5:30 -7:30 p.m.
Round 4: Friday, March 11, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
FINALS: Monday, March 14, 6-8 p.m. (location to be determined)
The competition will begin each night in the atrium of the courts building.
The two winners of the final round will advance to the Tennessee Bar Association’s state mock trial competition, which will take place Friday, March 25, and Saturday, March 26, in Nashville.
